My channel just got fucking demonitized and i don’t fucking know why…
OK LISTEN EVERYONE, we need to bring attention to this somehow. I’ll spam the F*CK outta youtube tomorrow on twitter and absolutely everywhere I can.
It wasn’t just a video of her that got demonetized, it was THE ENTIRE CHANNEL.
She only does speedpaints and animations like me, but apparently youtube said it wasn’t family-friendly and screwed her over.
This crap happened to a dear patron of mine too. Please everyone using Youtube and making money with it, please be careful.
Youtube has not said anything yet about its new weird, screwed politics/ algorithm.
It seems the main reason is that Youtube’s algorithm is detecting channels using copyrighted content, not only about music. Gaming streams, showing a poster with copyrighted content, even a book, pictures or a song for a meme. ANYTHING that this algorithm detects on that video, will be demonetized immediately.
If you have some videos with these symbols:
I would suggest you to make a copy of those videos, upload them in another platform (like dailymotion, for example) and delete them from your YT channel.
Keeping those videos on your channel (no matter if they’re private) is the perfect excuse for Youtube to not helping you.
This algorithm is also making a very stupid thing between channels that are using content from others even if both belong to the same person. I’m kinda afraid we could get a problem like this with NyxTheShield and other music channels that make content for our animations/speedpaints, since the algorithm thinks we are “stealing” their music and duplicating the same content from another channel that uploaded it first.
I don’t know what the hell is happening with Youtube, but we have no choice but pressure Youtube about this situation and protect our channels with those kind of copyrighted content” because this is absolutely unfair. I hope you can have a solution @superyoumna, Angel De La Verdad and anyone that might be having the same issue.
Important update on this issue, another friend of mine got their channel entirely demometized.
At this point I’m not sure whay to do. Youtube is known for not caring about their creators and are experts are ignoring and avoiding issues like these. All I can do is signal boosting this and hope that the YT staff actually reads twitter.
