Okay

Maybe it’s because I’m really tired but I’ve had a revelation

So, both Tumblr and Pinterest have a unique feature in which there is no time stamp on the posts. Most other social media platforms have some sort of time stamp on the posts, sometimes by minutes, hours, or days, depending on how accurate it is (sometimes even seconds for things like Snapchat) but Tumblr and Pinterest don’t.

Therefore, both platforms are timeless places to be, where time doesn’t have any real meaning. In fact, on mobile, sometimes the posts you look at block your clock altogether, making them incredibly easy to get lost in. It’s a genius ploy, really – let people get lost in a timeless website for hours on end.

However, despite both of them giving off timeless energies, their energies are opposite from one another, and I have come to a conclusion.

Tumblr is timeless in the way floating through the void is timeless. Pinterest is like getting lost in a HomeSense and occasionally running into those who frequent the void and one or two racist grandmothers.
