@dechartians, I love you, but I think you are missing the point of Kara’s storyline. You already said you wouldn’t answer to anymore reply for your previous post but I just came home and I really wanted to dramatically throw my opinion at your face so here I go.
First I’m gonna copy-paste something I said before on a Kara fanart piece because I’m lazy and it sums up my point of view pretty well :
“So many people tend to overlook her because “she has no big moments
like Concon and Markimoo, the writers must not like her lololol” and I’m
standing there wanting to scream because ARE U BLIND ? That’s EXACTLY
the point of her character : she is no superhero.
Markus is
robojesus, the deviants chosen one, and Connor is the ultimate anroid
model, Cyberlife’s chosen one. Kara is just another AX400 model, an
everyday Joe, but she STILL finds it within herself to stand tall and
step up to protect her loved ones, namely Alice (and later on Luther).
The story is cleverly written : we see all social classes of this
society (Todd ans Alice are in the working class, Carl is super rich and
you see homeless people in the streets a lot), as well as all “sides”
of the conflict. Markus is the rebellion against the authorities, which
are represented by Connor. And Kara is the third, often forgotten side.
She
reprensents what any of us would be when put in a situation of conflict
where you have to pick a side : scared people desperatly trying to get
by and protect what matters most to them. We are no robocop nor
robojesus. We are Kara. That is what makes her character so powerful and
relatable (which is also why Markus is the least liked character from
the three of them, he is by far the least relatable. Connor’s quest for
identity can totally resonate with a lot of us, but exept his
relationship with Carl, there’s not much that truly resonates with most
people in Markus’ story.) “
It echoes to what that anon said (gg anon ily), so just repeating it won’t be of any interest to you… That’s why I also want to introduce you to a theory of my own that would explain Kara’s role in a greater-scale story. Ladies and gents, drumroll for…
Kara is rA9 therory !
Hear me out. What do we know about rA9 ? 1- It was the first android to wake up. 2- It probaly occured because of an error of copy in its software, “A 0 instead of a 1″ as Kamski says (I personally think he did it on purpose but that’s beside the point). 3- Its sole presence is enough to contamine other androids, because of the data sharing they do at all time.
Kara is the android from the tech demo, where we see her IMMEDIATLY “awake”. No traumatizing experience or emotional shock. She’s deviant from the start.
Now please consider this image :
Confirmation that she was disfunctional from the very begining. “A 0 instead of a 1″. An error of copy.
Maybe this is why she is not important at first glance. Maybe this is why she has no “big moments”. She doesn’t need it. She is the origin. She spread the desire of freedom. It would make sense for the story as a whole, we see the one who needs to realise he has to lead the deviants, the one who has to realise he is fighting for the wrong cause, and the one that started it all without realising it.
Again, it’s just a theory. A GAME THEORY- ahem. I mean, I could be wrong, but this could explain a lot.
Here u go pal. My thoughts on Kara. What do you think ?
