anyway after thanos ruined everything the only way for tony and nebula to get off titan and to earth would be in quill’s ship so just the 2 of them in space sad as all fuck after watching their friends and loved ones be obliterated but they only have 70s/80s bops to listen to and they roll up to earth and rocket hears the tunes and thinks it’s the guardians but it’s just some rich asshole and gamora’s murder sister enjoying quill’s musical selections despite themselves like “waddup everyone is dead but this grief soundtrack is tight as shit”

This is so sad, Alexa play hooked on a feeling

joss whedon: loki tortures and murders people for fun, and, despite being the god of CHAOS, is a fascist who says things like “it’s the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation”

taika waititi: loki is an annoying little shit who day-drinks, puts on theater about himself, and fucks his way to the top

joss whedon: loki and thor are gods, so they always talk proper and posh and in cryptic riddles so for no reason. it makes them seem more powerful and mystical.

taiki waititi: one time when they were kids loki turned into a snake because he knows thor loves snakes and then thor went to pick up the snake and then loki turned back into himself and screamed “yueagh, it’s me!” and then he stabbed thor

Taika Waititi has a deeper understanding of Norse mythological accuracy than Joss lol

It’s because Joss Whedon looks at all mythology and religion through a Christian-atheist lens. You can see it in Buffy and even a little in Firefly too. Even when he writes about other religions and their deities and practices, it still comes back to Christianity.

He wrote Thor and Loki as modern Western Christianity would portray Jesus and the Devil as opposed to how they actually are in mythology or the comics

SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! I DIDN’T WANT TO BE THAT PERSON.

God. Norse mythology is so fucked up. Christianity is all about right and wrong and the bible is there to be a moral guidebook. But Norse mythology, like many other polytheistic cultures, was so much more complex because the gods were based on natural phenomena. AND NATURE ISN’T A FUCKING LESSON IN MORALITY.

Thor was a little shit. Loki was a little shit. Odin was a super shit. Fucking Odin would go to Midgard in disguise and help heroes and everyone knew it was him. Like “I’m just a random old guy with one eye.” “FFS we know you’re Odin just do your Odin thing and be cryptic then leave.”

And the giants weren’t evil! The giants could change size (that’s how the booty smooshing happened with the regular humans) and they totally helped the Norse out when they felt like it.

Stop bringing your monotheism into ancient polytheistic cultures 2k18. I stg. I am done with this bullshit.

n*tasha: (kisses bruce and then shoves him off a cliff, hoping that his fear of falling to his death will bring the hulk out)

bruce: (hulks out because he’s terrified of dying)

thor: hey uh…i’d appreciate it if the hulk could help me save my entire civilization. oh…? you’re not comfortable with that?? okay, i understand, there are other ways that you can help us.

bruce: (sees that the situation is next to hopeless without hulk, and changes willingly in order to protect thor and his people)

Hmmmmmmm. It’s almost as if Nat sees Bruce as a tool/ monster while Thor sees Bruce, no matter what, as a friend 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

“describe thor and loki’s dynamic with a single gif”

image

#i love how thor doesn’t even really try to stop loki’s murder knives it’s just a weary hand like ‘oh dear #‘don’t’ #‘can we not do this today’ #‘this has been my entire life do you see’ #‘[softly] loki no’ #this really is the dynamic (via @et-in-arkadia)

It’s like jazz hands but murder

so i was watching infinity war again and i noticed that out of thor, tony, and steve’s entrances (marvel’s “big three”), tony’s is the only one where the avengers theme doesn’t play. steve and thor’s pieces are the avengers theme, but in tony’s there’s only two or three measures, just the very beginning of it, after which it morphs into something different and unique (it doesn’t play in his fight with thanos either). and i realized that while it was never addressed on screen, the score tells us how tony feels about the team post-civil war: he feels alone.

think about it: in civil war, natasha, steve, and clint all went against him. no one knew where thor and bruce were. civil war split the team, and left tony feeling that he was on his own, separated from everyone else.

there isn’t really a point to this, i just thought it was a really cool detail alan silvestri put into the score.

quick question why did you need to ruin my life like that

@sevi007

Aaaand there’s the pain again!
