I’ve seen a few posts about Virgil being super protective over the other sides (since he’s fight or flight).
So now I’m just imagining sometimes when Virgil gets stressed or particularly anxious he does that thing you sometimes see mother animals do with their babies by like hiding them behind stuff.
Like??? He just picks up one or more of the other sides and puts them in a corner of the common room and buries them in blankets and if they try to move he just puts them back.
So they’re just stuck in a corner for a while (usually ranging from 10-15 minutes but sometimes up to an hour) until Virgil is relaxed again.
Patton just goes with it because it makes Virgil feel better, Logan is annoyed half the time but if he’s reading he just shrugs it off and reads in the corner. Roman though, he hates it. He always tries to wrestle away but Virgil just puts him next to the other two and he pouts while he waits for Virgil to let them leave.

Why do parents always assume their kid is lazy when they get bad grades? Like maybe help your kids by talking to them, not punishing them. This is how I failed math and didn’t even know I had number dyslexia for years.
When my sister was in high school she struggled a LOT with math. Like I know a lot of people find it really difficult (myself included), but I mean she was really really bad at it. She has always been a very smart, creative and sensitive person, but math made no sense to her, to the point where passing seemed impossible.
I will always remember that twice a week, around the kitchen table, my sister would sit down with my dad for hours, and they would try to work out her math homework. I should mention that my dad is an artist, and art teacher. Truth be told I think he struggled with math just as much if not more then she did. But twice a week you could hear them downstairs, going back and forth, trying to figure it out together. Some nights would be smooth and easy, some nights I could hear them arguing from one floor up about factors or equations, not in anger but in mutual frustration.
I remember the day that she passed. My sister couldn’t wait until my dad’s school day ended, so she called him at work. She gleefully announced to him “I got a D-!”. We could hear him through the phone as he exclaimed “She got a D!” excitedly to his class. Still through the phone we heard his students clapping, laughing and whooping in congratulations. Seldom has a grade in our household been so celebrated.
Just thought a shitty picture like this should be accompanied by a story about a person’s parents who actually gave a shit about helping their kid instead of mocking and punishing them.
Okay so I’m sure you’ve all heard of the quiet place project. Well if not I am going to tell you because it has stopped me from doing serious damage more than once.
This gem right here is where you can literally create a 100% anonymous username and just absolutely spill your guts. Then people can read it and give you advice, and it honestly is so helpful. Because the other people on it are in the same situations as you, and they understand. You can comment and give advice on other peoples posts too, and it’s just really great.
This little beauty is similar to the comfort spot. Except instead of posting your thoughts, you type them into the box and then when you press enter they disappear and turn into stars against the blue sky. There is a whole bunch of different languages to choose from at the start, so if English is not your first language then you can probably find it here. There is the most comforting music that plays in the background as well, which is so great.
Which is so good for panic related things because it silences all of your other tabs and when you make it full screen it talks to you very calmly and then literally forces you stop for just 30 seconds and do nothing and just breathe.
Okay, so this is my actual favourite, it’s called the dawn room
The dawn room is so great for stopping you from self harming. It begins by telling you that its going to be alright, then it asks you to write something about someone you love. After that messages from other people, just like you, appear on the screen, one after the other, and the background slowly become brighter and happier. This page has genuinely stopped me from hurting myself more times than I can count. I’m not suggesting that it will work for everyone, but it is an absolute gem.
This page runs for about 5 minutes, and it is basically a typing simulator that tries to convince you that everything is going to be alright. It is very calming, and good for lonely times.
I can honestly say that this website has done me so so much good. I appreciate it with every bit of my being.

So I reblogged (rebloged?) it before using, and now that I used I can say.
so, i gathered just a handful testimonials from replies and messages revealing just how unprofessional they are with their commission work by leaving their commissioners in silence for months. do not commission ghost-oakes unless you want to wait for months, watching them pump out other commissions and art while you twiddle your thumbs
i have my own testimonial too: i had tried to order a holiday icon back when they were offering them. weeks went by and i heard nothing, no updates. all the while, they were creating gift icons for friends for free and other such art. when i finally did hear back, the holidays were over and i still got no visual progress (but i was told it was being worked on). they said they would finish it in a week – nothing. i asked them about it again, another week – still nothing. it wasn’t until i threatened to backdraft them (which in most cases i would NEVER do, but i felt it was my only option) that i got my money back.
God, the amount of people who have mentioned getting no or rushed work from him after needling him for months. He’s apparently now blocking some people he owes.
On top of that— I dunno if he still has this policy, but his TOS on FA at one point said that if you filed a chargeback, he got to keep your character to sell off as an adoptable.
That’s. Insane. Especially considering his work ethic.
Dude was fully ambulatory and able to work when I knew him in 2014 (despite claiming things like cancer, kidney problems and sepsis THE WHOLE TIME… SEPSIS, which shoulda had him hospitalized or dead) and combined with a history of lying about being a victim of other events and people, I’m very skeptical of his ever-evolving health claims.
In my experience, under stress he will basically read half a sentence and decide what the second half means on his own. Fact-checking isn’t his thing when threatened. My theory is that once he has a worry or concern, it becomes reality to him, and he defends the lie because he finds comfort in having a confirmation that the world is out to get him with minimal responsibility on his part.

Because of COURSE people are gonna try to chargeback after waiting MONTHS to receive what they paid for. Wow. WOW! He has set up his TOS to have the right to take your character(s) for himself to use and sell for his own profit
Ghost-Oakes will take your money, not do your commission, and then will steal your character if you attempt to get your money back

If someone’s talking about commissioning him, warn them of this. Petitions don’t do shit, the only way to stop people like this is to stop their income. Drag his reputation through the dirt until no one would even consider speaking to him. That’s the only way to end this.

We are open to suggestions if your identity was not included. We had to umbrella many of the sexualities under queer, as there are hundreds upon hundreds that could not fit in the acronym, but are still very valid! This is very useful in explaining to cishets or other exclusionists what the parameters of our community are.
