Well, Jesus would have been from the Middle East so he might have been darker than how he is shown in all the old paintings.
Many people from the Middle East are darker, after all.
Israel today is pretty mixed but I don’t know how it was 2000 years ago. So yeah, him being shown with a darker tan is actually not unrealistic.
