please if you do anything useful in your life, don’t scroll past this

PLEASE

tchaikovsky is proud

In case anyone is baffled by this, there’s a Tchaikovsky piece in which there’s supposed to be a loud sound but he never specified what you should use to make that sound. People have done all kinds of weird shit depending on how they think the sound should, well, sound. Hitting a large piece of wood with a sledgehammer is a relatively conventional one.

“Humanoid” can be a vague term when looking at alien/creature cause sometimes it refers to anything that’s upright and loosely has the body plan of a human, and other times people mean literally just a normal ass human with things added on

as long as it has a sensory organ or two and some limbs, it’s humanoid enough as far as I’m concerned.

Behold a man

the bare minimum is that humanoids must be bipedal

Behold a man: part 2

And they can’t have feathers

BEHOLD A MAN

They have to walk upright and be able to t pose. Other than that, anything goes

Finally a human being

wake up america

this is to educate my non-American followers. This really is how the US sees itself. (and yes, 95% of the time, Florida = WHAT?!)

In Florida the more North you go, the more “South” you get

In Florida the central part pretends to be the south, the western part pretends to be the northeast and the south pretends to be the west I’m not even kidding you

… Please tell me you guys are kidding.

Florida is like it’s own country I swear

I’m from Florida and I can confirm this. Also, South Florida is basically Miami and alligators.

oh, i always assumed florida was part of The South?

north florida is yes. The rest is not.

I’m from Florida, and grew up in SC/NC.
Can confirm all true. 👍

Um. This is so wrong.

You’re forgetting the part where California sees itself as its own entity.

We do not want to be grouped in with everyone else, thanks.

clearly none of you have ever met someone from texas

This last one is on point

As a Texan, I can confirm this.

Texas isn’t the south Texas is Texas

theres so much texas that we have to be considered our own region texas is texas

I can confirm the Texas thing– if you have to drive 10 hours from one city to another you’re a region

my students react to roman emperors

thoodleoo:

  • “so is murdering all of your relatives just, like…a thing if you’re emperor”
  • (upon hearing about hadrian and antinous) “WHAT. i want a boyfriend to make a cult for me and order a million statues of me when i’m dead!!”
  • “can i ask a question? why is nero Like That?”
  • “i wouldn’t want to be a roman emperor because i like my life, i enjoy living,”
  • “so are all roman emperors basically gay?”
  • (when i told them that caligula was called little boots because of a tiny soldier’s uniform he wore as a child) “awww how cute!!”
  • (when i told them that caligula grew up to be…well, caligula) “aWWW LESS CUTE”
  • (while researching the emperor their group was assigned) “how did our guy die? oh, assassination, big surprise”
  • “oh, he boiled his wife and son alive! what a family man”
  • (upon hearing some of the frivolous and/or authoritarian laws some emperors supposedly instituted) “gee, that sounds familiar…”
  • (while reading aloud their group’s presentation on hadrian) “and i love to spend time working on my wall- make rome great again, y’all”
