idk if yallve heard yet but the west virginia teachers got a state wide pay raise! striking works!

worth noting that not only did they get an immediate 3% pay raise followed by two 1% increases (instead of the 1% that was originally on the table, or the 2%-1%-1% bill signed just before the strike), but that all state employees are going to be receiving a total 3% raise as well.

mind, it sounds like this isn’t the end of their struggle by a long shot, but it’s significant.

They’re still on strike, and now they’re occupying the state capitol building.

Quick And Dirty Tips For Creating Subplots

lianabrooks:

– Not everyone should love the hero.

– The more antagonists you have the more conflicts you create.

– Real life should happen to the characters, even if they are saving the world they have jobs and responsibilities.

– Give the character interests and friends outside of work.

– Multiple point of views aren’t a bad thing if you know how to juggle them.

– It all needs to come together at the end.

– Not every antagonist needs to be vanquished at the end.

– – Give us more than one character to love– (from Diantha)

— Make each and every character count — (from Diantha)

Stories need subplots. Make sure yours has one.
