Greetings! The name is Time Lizzy, or Time as my friends call me. They/Them pronouns. I love to try new things, draw, sing, dance, garden, and I do some witchcraft in my free time. I'm a Hetalia role playing partner if you guys are interested.
A few days back on AO3 I found an unfinished, two chapter spideypool fanfic that was cute and had lots of potential and was also last updated two years ago. Two whole years! And it had only three comments, all of which on chapter one, none on chapter two. I enjoyed the fanfic, despite it being far, FAR from being finished and the chance of it ever updating again anytime soon was just about zero. So you know what I did?
I wrote a damn comment. On chapter two.
And I made sure that fucker was long and had a small theory of where I think the author would take the fanfic in the future. I let the person behind the fic know that I friggin LOVED the two chapters I got to read! That I would LOVE to see more! That I’d jump out of my skin in happiness and virtually hug them half to death if I saw that they updated it.
Let me remind you this fic wasn’t updated in two YEARS! I was the first to comment on it in a year. And the first to comment on chapter two! And you know what happened today?
I got a reply.
From the author of the fanfic.
And the author said how I gave them life for a project they had loved (still did) and that they were now working on a third chapter.
After two YEARS of not updating. Of not writing. And it makes me so friggin happy seeing what I did. What I caused.
With a single. Damn. Comment.
All that it took for me was to think a bit about what I wanted to tell the author and the comment it. All it took was one comment. And suddenly this person was inspired to continue a fanfic they had abandoned for TWO YEARS!!
I couldn’t be happier. I couldn’t be more proud.
Comment on people’s fanfics. No matter how few chapters there are. No matter how many years have passed since their last update. Comment. You like a fanfic? Comment on it. It’s that easy.
[I hope you know I’m now unable to attend 14th century religious art history without being assaulted with Supernatural ideas. This is referenced from probably every picture of Gabriel visiting Mary, a lot of which featured pink wings.]
Please, if you are seeing this right now, and thinking about hurting yourself.
Don’t.
Not because “someone will be hurt by you hurting yourself”
But because you will someday do something amazing, and if you arent around to do it, it will never be done, and thus, the world be be lesser for it.
I know its hard right now. The thoughts, the numbness, the lack of caring. The black hole that swallows you up deeper and deeper until it feels there was never an entrance in the first place.
I know its hard right now.
I am not you, nor know you’re situation but if you can overcome it, and get away from it, you will become stronger because of it, and maybe someday you too, will prevent someone from doing what you are thinking right now.
Please,
I beg you,
Do not hurt yourself tonight, or tomorrow, of the next forever in your lifetime to come from now on.
England: *gasps and nearly drops the box* “Oh god! Who did this to you? I-I can try to reverse it!” Arthur would gasp and be appalled at whoever created this curse. He would work endlessly to break it and would do whatever he could to help the person trapped inside. He would hope that whoever made this curse suffered some kind of side effect for the foul magic they conjured.
America: “Nope! Nope!” Alfred would pass that box on to Arthur as fast as he could. Alfred doesn’t deal with magic or curses, he refuses. Too much weirdness! He would feel horrible for whoever was cursed, but he would know they were better off in Arthur’s hands.
Prussia: “This…is weird. Sad, but weird.” Gilbert would look at the box and sigh before shaking his head. This poor person…cursed…he would suck it up and go to Arthur for help. As much as Gilbert knows, he knows little to nothing about magic. So he would promise to help the person trapped inside, but would have to go to Arthur first. Gilbert wouldn’t want to tangle with magic and end up cursed himself.
France: “Oh, mon dieu…!” Francis wouldn’t..really know what to do. Part of him would want to just give the music box back to whoever gave it to him…but..if it really was a person, he wouldn’t have the heart to do so….he’d end up trying to talk to them to see if they could speak and tell him what happened..worst case, he would suck it up and ask Arthur.
Russia: “….Huh?” Ivan wouldn’t know where to begin with this..he does know quite a bit about curses..so he would want to look into it for them..but part of him would be a bit nervous to do so…what if there was a good reason they were trapped? Oh well, he’d find out soon enough.
America: “Y-you are really nice…and here, have this flower!” Alfred would be a blushing mess as a child confessing his crush. He would give them a flower and smile at them as he twiddles his thumbs and nervously shifts from side to side. He would hope they returned his crush, if not he would run away blushing and very embarrassed.
England: “I wish I could…” Arthur would never confess his crushes as a child. He would be too scared of rejection. He would look on from a distance and hope…but he would never say anything.
France: “Do you want to share my lunch with me? As a child Francis would still be a bit of a charmer..! Just..in more of a cute way..He’d offer to sit with his crush all the time or share his lunch with them..he’d also offer to teach them French, since that was his first language.
Canada: “H-Hi..” Matthew would be very nervous to have a crush..even as a child. He’d be used to being the last person picked and forgotten some of the time..he’d try to be close friends with his crush..but wouldn’t reveal his feelings..he’d always get butterflies in his tummy when he’s around his crush…
Russia: “We can swing together, да?” Ivan would be kind of scared to have a crush on someone as a child..mostly for the same reasons he does when he’s an adult. He’d be afraid they wouldn’t feel the same way about him..if he had a crush as a child, he’d likely be close friends with them until high-school..or at least late middle school before revealing how he feels…
China: “Here you go! I made it for you!” Yao as a kid would confess his crush with a small homemade treat. He would have the biggest smile and would hope they liked it…though it may not be too good since it would be one of the first treats he made himself. But it is the though that counts.
