not to be a liberal or anything but there isn’t a lot of harm done by voting for less awful candidates, or at least not as much as ignoring electoral politics and doing nothing at all…like yeah the system’s rigged and it’s probably not gonna help all that much and it sorta feels like throwing a coin in the wishing well but why not, at this point, i mean we might as fucking well
#esp marginalized folks who have historically been prevented from voting
#theres reasons theyve made it illegal or impossible to vote & reasons why activists worked towards that right
#you cant vote in a revolution obviously but its not like it has *no* effect on people’s lives
#or that by voting youre inherently reactionary or something
#the older (60+ years old) communists i know all vote- esp local
