Gilbert would be heartbroken that he couldn’t be with his soulmate. He would try to end it quickly and as painlessly as possible. He wouldn’t dwell on the pain too long since it would start to interfere with his duty, but he would hurt. Gilbert would need to take time to remember the vows he made and re-commit himself to the cause, but he would never forget them.
