I’m tired of women being asked to apologize for their success

Alessia Cara made a whole speech implying that she didn’t deserve her award and that wasn’t enough for people and she had to explain herself again on Instagram. Adele broke her Grammy in half and dedicated it to Beyonce. But when a male artist wins over another artist that people think deserved it, they’re not expected to humble themselves and almost reject the award. No one expects Ed Sheeran to apologize to Kesha. Bruno Mars is not handing his Grammy off to Kendrick Lamar. It’s just really sad that only women let the public guilt them into discrediting their success. And when they don’t, they’re “bitches” I’m fucking tired of it. Let them live. Art is subjective anyway.
