Can you imagine how Yugi has to prepare a speech to hold in front of the class and he tests it on spirit Atem? And Atem is super interested (because after 3000 years he would have some gaps in his education) and listens carefully and he’s being super supportive. He gives Yugi a few tips on how to make himself seem more confident and compliments his work. (”You made that graphic yourself? That looks so good! Oooh, what an interesting example! That’s such a good way to explain it!”)
And on the day he has to present the speech Yugi is all nervous. But Atem is of course there in spirit form and tells him that he can do it! So Yugi walks in front of the class while Atem remains on Yugi’s seat. Yugi keeps looking at Atem and even though his hands are a bit shaky he NAILS that speech!! And afterwards Atem is all proud of him and tells him how well he did.
They make that a routine. Yugi always rehearses his speeches in front of Atem and thanks to his support it gets easier every time for Yugi. He grows more and more confident.
But you know what?
He keeps doing it even after Atem is gone. He pictures Atem in his room as he rehearses, on his seat in the class room…and also on one of the chairs at their graduation ceremony. And he knows Atem would be so proud of him if he were still there.
