Country:
Scotland is always a little bitter about Britannia’s death, and blames England for it despite it not fully being his fault. England was born as the country itself was shifting and changing, the time for Britannia was passing and as the country was influenced more and more by Rome the ways of old were slowly being pushed away. Britannia knew that England was going to replace her and she tried to explain this to the others, but they did not want to embrace change, they wanted everything to stay the same. Once Britannia passed, Scotland begrudgingly took England under his wing and raised him, though as time passed Scotland grew rather fond of the little one…though he swore he would never admit it. Ireland and Northern Ireland still harbor a small grudge towards England, but try not to let it be in the way, and Wales doesn’t particularly blame England. Though it is a common thought in the household that times were much easier before England…especially one England claimed them all and tried to take over the world.

Human AU:
Alistair’s mother was alive and well until Alistair was around eighteen. She loved all of her children dearly and took care of them all. She made sure they all got along and played nice, and intervened many times when the other boys were too harsh on Arthur. Though once she passed, Alistair was forced to take over the role as the head of the family. He tried his best but the stress got to him and he delved into various vices, but he always put his family first. Alistair did his best to make sure Arthur was happy since the oldest brother always pictured the youngest as their mother’s favorite, though Arthur’s stubborn nature grated on Alistair’s nerves daily. Soon his loving care became harsher and he began to show more tough love to Arthur. Alistair loves Arthur dearly, but some days he believes it would be easier to just ignore him.
