So I know it’s a community-wide theory that Dark is the one that took the Author’s eyes, but what if he actually saved him? Like, maybe Dark and Author were sorta-friends, and Dark went to the cabin to visit and found Author bleeding out on the floor. That’s why the Host is his right hand man, because of their history together.

I think I discussed this before, but I actually really like this idea. Author would have been a powerful, cunning ally to Dark. And before Dark became the character we know now, he was alot less edgy. So the two would have been good friends scheming and such because they were just as deadly as the other. Dark could do things Author couldn’t, and Author could do the things Dark was unable too.

So seeing someone so powerful suddenly fall would not only scare Dark, but also make him furious to the situation that happened to his friend. So he brought Author back as Host, to make sure something like that never happened again.
