Spooks! What if Egos go thru varying amounts of pain as their entire character changes every time Mark and Jack releases an Ego video? Like, a simple wardrobe change is painless, like Wil’s stripe suit to his pastel dress shirt, but having a complete personality change, like Dark in ADWM and from Author to The Host, it’s almost unbearable. Imagine how much pain WKM was to Dark and Wil, as their entire history gets rearranged. Imagine how they’re dreading the next video Mark promised in Pax -😶

Dark didn’t really have a personality or set look before ADWM, so when that series came out he went through a LOT of changes.  And it was extremely disorienting for Dark because he didn’t realize how easy it was for their creators to do that.

The Host is usually a chill guy and easy to get along with, but I can imagine that he hates Mark for doing what he did to him.  And since there’s no canon explanation for what happened, even the Host doesn’t know what caused him to be like this.  And he hates that not even his own powers can provide him with any explanation or closure.

And YES!!  I saw a post forever ago talking about how the creation of WKM literally changed Dark and Wilford’s entire existence.  Dark didn’t use to be an amalgamation of Celine, Damien, and the manor entity.  Wilford didn’t use to be a Colonel who lost his sanity.  They used to be normal (well, as close to normal as an ego can be) but now they have a tragic backstory that broke them
