I don’t really know what people generally call this method of sigil making, so I’m just calling it “Letter Shaping” because you’re using the basic shapes from certain letters.
This is the most common form of sigil making, and it allows the most creative influence. As you see above the sigils are for nearly the same thing, yet the sigils came out completely different. Not because the purpose was different, but because I approached them both a different creative way, and that’s what I like so much about this method. There’s a lot of freedom and personalization involved.

Okay so what if the sides first came in as their core functions already there- Yknow, Creativity, Morality, Logic, and wtv headcannon you have for Virgil, for me it’s Caution -but then as new things and situations and ideas were introduced to Thomas, each side sorta “claimed” what other attributes they wanted.

For example, the first time Thomas finds a boy cute, Roman’s like “THIS ONE’S MINE” and now he also has romance.

Or Thomas finds interest in something in one of his classes, and Logan discovers curiosity.

Okay idk what this is but wtv

And maybe Thomas’s first ever big test is coming up and there’s this horrible negative feeling and energy that they’ve never had before. It keeps trying to attach to one of them, and Logan avoids it, and Roman is disgusted by it, and Patton looks sad and scared but he’s about to take it on for the others’ sakes.

And then Virgil shows up and gets between Patton and the energy, and it grabs him, and now Virgil is suffering but he’s the protecter so he had to do it for them.

And the space under his eyes gets darker and his warnings get more frantic, more afraid, and he’s no longer just cautious.

He did it for them.

i wish there wasn’t such a stigma around being proved wrong, bc it’s a part of life, no one can be right all the time. if we didn’t feel as much shame about it i think a lot of things would change a lot faster

we all need to practice saying “I hadn’t thought of it like that” “I hadn’t seen it that way before” “I must have misunderstood the first time I heard about it” “if I had known those facts I wouldn’t have thought like I did”
