Greetings! The name is Time Lizzy, or Time as my friends call me. They/Them pronouns. I love to try new things, draw, sing, dance, garden, and I do some witchcraft in my free time. I'm a Hetalia role playing partner if you guys are interested.
So, with the death of another BLM activist, I think it’s really important to stop photographing and videotaping people doing activism. Like I know it feels really good for morale to watch a comrade snatch a confederate flag or punch a Nazi, but this documentation actively puts these people in danger, especially if they aren’t masked up and their names are everywhere.
there at multiple BLM (and other) activists that had to go into hiding after Cville because videos of them have gone viral, to the point of even their families not being able to get in contact with them. Even if you’re on the same side and you’re doing it for the “good guys”, just don’t. Don’t video faces, don’t ask for names at actions, don’t say names out loud to your friends. You don’t know who is listening.
Our morale building propaganda, is their evidence. These videos are the reason charges are brought against folks in Cville and these videos are why people are getting killed. Learn to use the word “unidentified” when talking about someone doing anything action related in any sort of media. I know a lot of us want to give credit where credit is due, but in these cases it puts these brave people at risk.
I’m tired of women being asked to apologize for their success
Alessia Cara made a whole speech implying that she didn’t deserve her award and that wasn’t enough for people and she had to explain herself again on Instagram. Adele broke her Grammy in half and dedicated it to Beyonce. But when a male artist wins over another artist that people think deserved it, they’re not expected to humble themselves and almost reject the award. No one expects Ed Sheeran to apologize to Kesha. Bruno Mars is not handing his Grammy off to Kendrick Lamar. It’s just really sad that only women let the public guilt them into discrediting their success. And when they don’t, they’re “bitches” I’m fucking tired of it. Let them live. Art is subjective anyway.
it’s so hilarious to me that straight women think they are so irresistible to us gay women that we are just waiting to pounce on them as soon as we’re in the same space like nah we can smell your homophobia from miles away you fucking gremlins
reblog to kill the predatory lesbian myth
This but also cis lesbians about trans lesbians
reblog again to kill the predatory trans women myth
Another note: This is in reference to the Filipino legend from Albay called “Daragang Magayon” [literally translated into “beautiful maiden”, with “daraga” meaning “maiden” and “magayon” meaning “beautiful”]
She’s a folk heroine, whose love story can be read here
It is said that her lover, Panganoron, is the clouds that surround Mt. Mayon’s peak, while she is herself the volcano, which has always been seen as remarkably beautiful in shape
It’s said that the volcano grew where they were buried together
Which is why the shape of two lovers seen in the smoke of its most recent eruption is so culturally significant.
