Ok so you said you were open for ideas for your au so here’s an idea. I feel like once Roman becomes evil he starts to get really possessive of Virgil. Like maybe he had a crush on him before and now that he’s possessed he wants to make Virgil his “queen” or something like that. He would kidnap virg and then try to “court” him and he starts using nick names like darling. Virgil wouldn’t except b/c the Roman right in front of him isn’t his Roman. I hope this makes sense. Sorry if it doesn’t.

I adooooooore corrupt roman trying to “court” virgil, as it is a reflection of his actual feeling for him. And virgil just being conflicted cause on one hand this is /not/ his Roman, and on the other Virgil is head over heels for him and is torn by all this lovely attention not-quite-roman is giving him

okay, so you said that Virgil doesn’t remember anything before living in Thomas’ castle. what if Virgil came from like the same place that Deceit came from ( village? kingdom? IDK) and like, Patton or someone older found Virgil and took him into the palace, but because Virgil can’t remember his past, he doesn’t remember he knew Deceit before the whole Roman thing happened

the-pastel-peach:

Deceit and Virgil definitely ‘knew’ each other(and we’ll get into that at a later date), but when Virgil finally stumbled upon the castle as a dazed and beat up 6 year old, Patton would’ve been at least 10 and living in another kingdom. its an absolutely delicious thought tho, thank you for it

(last screenshot is messed up ahaidhaoak) but holy sHIT do i agree with everything this anon is about. Like, im not super into super creepy stalkerish c!roman, but i am super into the crown simply amplifying roman’s feelings and giving him the confidence to do everything regular roman always wanted to do, but didnt due to the fear of rejection. But even then those feelings having a twisted undertone to them, as roman now has no filter when it comes to his desires. It’s perfect, thank you so much for this anon i could kiss you

the-pastel-peach:

What an absolutely scRUMPTIOUS tidbit. I will say that roman’s sash is important, but more in a symbolic way. Its his sign as a knight, a symbol of his status as Captain of the royal gaurd, and it represents all that he stands for(bravery, chivalry, kindness, etc…) and he takes great pride when wearing it. Thats also the reason its the first thing he discards when he becomes ‘king’ as it is now a status symbol below him. Virgil holds on to it cause it’s the last real connection he has to the man roman once was

Question, how did Deceit end up controlling Roman? Did he use Virgil as bait? Was he taken by force or…?

the-pastel-peach:

Deciet tricked roman into thinking he would get a kingdom of his own(it should be noted that i never intended for it to seem as if roman wanted to take the kingdom from thomas, he loves thomas and respects him as a great king, but if he could have his own and perhaps be a king alongside thomas, then he jumped on the chance), but really he was only using him to get into the castle

Pairing: Roman x Virgil
Genre: Sanders Sides fantasy AU (of castles and thorns), angst angst angst
Warnings: Major character death, blood.
A/N: This is a little oneshot based off of the Of Castles and Thorns AU by @the-pastel-peach ! It’s my first time writing a fight scene so please forgive how messy it is. (ps: me? stealing my favourite lines from the princess bride for fanfic? it’s more likely than you think.)

“Roman, you don’t have to do this.” Virgil looked up at Roman, and winced at the way the thorns in Roman’s rose-adorned crown dug into his skin. “This can end now.”

Roman laughed coldly, yellow eyes flashing.

“You and I both know that’s not how this ends.” Virgil’s soft, forgiving eyes went hard. He took a deep breath. So that was it. They were really doing this. Roman sauntered toward him, hand on the hilt of his sword.

“You know, I could say the same to you, darling.” Roman’s lips curled into a smirk.

“What?” Virgil replied.

“You don’t have to do this,” Roman mimicked Virgil’s desperate tone. Had he really sounded that pathetic? “You could give up now. It’s painfully obvious you don’t want to fight me, sweetheart.”
