Captions and Subtitles

Hey there! I feel like we need to talk about captions and subtitles on videos. A few months back I enabled the open source, fan made subtitle feature thingy on my videos so that people could contribute and help those who needed captions to watch my content. I would love to be able to caption all my videos as I know there are people in the community who really need them and rely on them but it’s a huge undertaking to do, so I opened it up to you guys to help out and be part of the videos a bit more.

However, some people have taken it upon themselves to taint them and add either their own commentary to my content or to even self promote in them now. Either be adding their own funny text, interpretations or answers to what I already say in the video or downright just saying “please sub to X”. I did not enable the feature for it to be abused like this. It was done for a legit reason and out of respect for those who requested subtitles.

I know many of you here who read this aren’t the ones doing this and are very respectful of the captions on content but if you’re someone who likes to add in their own flavour text to content, please keep in mind that this is a valuable resource for many and in doing so you confuse and spoil it. I want to get my thoughts on this out there because it is not ok! and this not only goes for my content but many other youtubers too. Let’s keep the captions clean and accurate so we can all enjoy the same, equal content as each other 🙂

Just gonna…reblog this real quick.

🌟 Creating your own Self-Care Box 🌟

Step 1: Get a box, any size is fine!

Step 2: Decorate it! (I used wallpaper and paint)

Step 3: Buy things to go inside your box – Remember this is your self-care box, so fill it with things that distract, comfort, relax and cheer you up in times of distress.

For example:

Sensory toys  🌟

Puzzle books 🌟

DVD’s 🌟

Colouring books with pens or pencils 🌟

Soft toys/teddies (These are great for comfort) 🌟

Stickers 🌟

Play-Doh! 🌟

Write a few letters to yourself for when you need them 🌟

For example – Your favourite memories, reasons to stay alive, reasons not to self-harm, you can do this, motivational quotes, the things you love about yourself

Diary or Notepad 🌟

Step 4: Once you have all your items of choice put them all into your box! 🌟

Step 5: Whenever you feel low, anxious, scared, alone, angry or distressed. Go to your box. It will always be there for you when you need it.

If you make one, take a picture and show me!

Stay strong my warriors  💖🌟

This is a beautiful and simple thing to do. I might make one.
