Today I received a letter from my senator. Formally, in the mail and everything, thanking me for contacting him about Net Neutrality and telling me that my concerns were valid and that he agreed that it needed to be protected.
I received a very similar email from our acting Junior State Senator, rheee weeks in advance. I reached out to both, and both responded, telling me that I had their support.
Heres the kicker: I only contacted them using ResistBot
One message. From my phone. And I get a formal letter in the mail.
If anyone tells you that you should give up on trying to contact your representatives by easy to acess means because they’ll “automatically ignore it”, don’t listen to them.
I don’t care where you are, Massachusetts, Kansas, Alaska, South Dakota, wherever. I don’t care what you are, animal rights advocate, LGBTQ+, feminist, whatever. I don’t care why you’re here, finding memes, chatting with friends, looking for inspiration, whatever the reason, whatever you’re doing here….stop and reblog this.
Net neutrality can still be saved. We just need one more vote to save it. ONE more vote! ONE! Check the list at battleforthenet.com and make sure your senator is supporting net neutrality. If not, contact them.
