Matt huffs and gives up. “Fine fine. Just shut up after this.”
“YAY! Come here come here! Place that butt on my lap!”
“You are too happy about this.” Still, even as he complained, Matt let himself be bend over.

“What? You going to do this or now?”
“Oh yeah, I will. I’m just first trying to inscribe this beautifulness into my mind. Alright! Let’s be begin! 1!” slap “2!” slap “3!” slap
The slaps were not super hard or anything, but having a bunch at the same spot did not feel super pleasant after a while.
“23!” slap “2-”
“Hang on there, that;s about my human age. You can stop now.”
“I can. but since you agreed, I figured we might as well do this right! I’ve calculated your real age! So, you might not be moving from my lap for a while.”
Ok so before there was that post about Patton having a panic attack and (accidentally?) creating Virgil and in the same thread what if Virgil (accidentally?) created Roman while having a panic attack because he felt he needed to be protected and who better to protect than a prince
Additionally: Creativity and imagination can help distract from anxiety (consider people who write or draw to feel better). In some ways, Princey is literally helping Anxiety.
However, Virgil’s creation will eventually turn on him: imagination opens the door to terrifying possibilities too. Your Mom doesn’t text you back? Your imagination is what launches you a hundred ideas at once. She was in an accident. She can’t pick up the phone because someone died. She’s angry at you. She’s – (and on and on).
Consider Virgil watching his own creation destroy him like that.
i’ve seen a lot of different takes on Roman “ducking” out and so now i present to you in poorly sketched comic form, my take. Basically Roman goes missing, a weird portal in his room is opened up to a sort of subconscious dreamscape kinda thing, and the other sides have to face the physical manifestations of Roman’s metaphorical internal struggles while Roman is trapped somewhere in a castle of his own self doubt. More dumb comics about it under the cut!
