Yugi- Wakes up to his alarm twice, and as much as he wants to be lazy he get up anyway to get ready for the day. after getting dressed and doing his crazy hair and brushing his teeth he goes down to help Grandpa sort and open the shop, making sure they have inventory done and also so that he can make sure they both eat breakfast. Cant sell or make games on an empty stomach~!
Atem/Yami- When Atem was in the Puzzle his mind would rise when Yugi did so watching the boy go though his morning routine was endearing to the spirit. Seeing the other rub the sleep from his eyes had to be the most precious thing the spirit had seen besides Yugi getting flustered. And Yugi being the sweet boy he was would let the spirit take over some times to eat breakfast and talk with grandpa, it being a kind and sweet jester from the other, Yugi saying that he didnt want the other to get to lonely.
When Atem’s memories came back to him he would remember how he hated mornings, his servants and mages having to fight him to get him up, but once he was wake he was awake, the sun moving him to do his kingly duties as Pharaoh. Mornings with Yugi still holds over anything he could have recovered in his memories though.
Joey- sets ten alarms, never wakes up to the first nine and then panics and rushes around to get ready for school. After graduation the blonde has two jobs and even though he is still late his bosses ignore it with how hard the tough young punk works. Joey also likes to go to a small shop on his way to work and get some breakfast, not the most healthy thing he could eat but he lifts and does a lot of manual stuff so that plus working out when he can keeps im in shape for Duel Monster tournaments, cant let rich boys outshine his rugged good looks now can he?
Seto Kaiba- wakes up around 6am if he gets to sleep that long, most of the time its quick power naps until Mokuba makes him promise to sleep, which now that Mokuba is older and half runs the company Seto has taken those suggestions more. After waking up he eats a light healthy breakfast, works out for a few hours while managing his numbers and yelling at people over the phone, never once sounding like he is out of breath, and then showers. Three cups of coffee later and going over the day plans with Mokuba, the act like the two were casually talking about the weather or something, then then brothers would head to Kaiba Corp.

So in all those Post Cannon And For Some Reason Have His Own Body fics Atem is always really happy to be living in modern times and loves it here , right? Not to say he would hate it here but really all he has are his friends (who are still in school mind you)
I just feel like there would be some kind of….. difficulties when you have a Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh with amazing magical powers become a kid with nothing.
I know Atem would know about the modern world but he would now be remembering a whole life in a different culture(That he was the fucking god king of) Would this change some of his values ? Does he get low key annoyed that he can’t just tell someone to do things and they would listen?
Does he get sad knowing that he can’t ever have his favorite meal again because the recipe has been lost to time ? That some of the plants and animals he seen have become extinct ? How does he feel about all the grave robbing that happened to Egyptian tombs ?
Atem lost an entire civilization in which he was the literal God king of , I just think we as a fandom kinda forgot that
The rainy season was a blessing to the Egyptians. It was a nice break from the blustering hot sun and dry, dusty air. The farmers were able to bring in healthy crops of food and livestock to the local villages, which helped cut down on imported goods, which made the Pharaoh and his royal council happy.
But, unfortunately, the rainy season also brought a chill in the air, which lead to sickness.
The mighty and powerful King Atem was one of the unlucky ones that had gotten sick. Although it was nothing serious, just a common cold, once word spread around the palace that the Pharaoh was sick, all the maids and servants were knocking at his door, asking if he needed anything or wanted anything. In all honesty, Atem just wanted to be alone… well, not completely alone.. there was only one person he wanted to stay with him.
“Where is Yuugi?” Atem asked as one of the maids fluffed his pillows once again.
“He is in his charmers, my king. I can send one of the guards to retrieve him for you, if you wish.” She smiled softly as she bowed to the pharaoh before excusing herself from the room.
Atem groaned as he leaned back against the headboard of his large bed, closing his eyes and relaxing his sore joints. It was nearly noon and he was still in bed. It had been so long since he had a cold, he felt snuffy and his throat was sore. But his servants acted as if he was deathly ill.
“My Pharaoh, I’m sorry to disturb you, but the guards told me you wanted to see me,” a gentle voice filled the room. Atem smiled, even before opening his eyes, he knew that voice and he made him feel better already.
“Yes, Aibou,” Atem smiled as he sat up in bed and looked over at his dearest friend. It had been nearly a year since Yugi Motou found passage to Atem’s dimension. Nearly a year that Yuugi told the King of Egypt that he wanted to stay here with him. He wanted to stay and be a part of Atem’s world.
Yuugi’s face softened, his eyes sparkling and his smile growing larger. He knew that Atem only called him by his nickname when they were alone, they could drop the formal talk and just by themselves. Yuugi had quickly learned after coming to Ancient Egypt that he had to address Atem in a respectful manner in the eyes of the public and even around the palace.
“I’m so glad you asked to see me, other me!” Yuugi said excitedly as he rushed over to Atem and jumped on to the bed, sitting on his knees right in front of the pharaoh. “I wanted to ask you if-” he paused, his smile quickly fading once Atem covered his nose and mouth, turning away from the smaller man as he coughed and sneezed. “Oh no, Atem, are you sick?” Yuugi frowned, leaning forward and placing the back of his hand to Atem’s forehead to check his temperature. “Oh! You are burning up. You are sick, Atem. Is there anything I can do for you?”
“Yuugi, please,” Atem sighed as he gently took the younger man’s hand in his own. “Don’t worry about me. I just want to stay in bed and rest.. with you.”
“With me?” Yuugi’s eyes softened and he moved himself so he could lay with the Pharaoh on the bed, their hands still laced together.
“Yes, Aibou,” Atem smiled as he setting down in his bed, pulled the covers over both of their bodies. Yuugi laid his head on Atem’s large chest.
“I’m totally okay with this,” Yuugi chuckled, pressing his head against Atem’s skin to hide his blushing red face. “I like spending time with you.” Atem smiled and wrapped his arms around Yuugi’s waist, pulling him closer.
“I’m glad to hear that, my Yuugi, this makes me feel a lot better,” Atem purred happily.
“Yeah? Then I’ll stay here as long as you want me too!” Yuugi tilted his head up to look at the Pharaoh’s face. Atem leaned down and kissed the top of Yuugi’s nose.
Yugi– Pastels. This Cute little bean would be so adorable in
pastels and I would die. Like he can still have his bondage jewelry and
leather, but it in pastels!!!! HIM AND RYOU COULD BE PASTEL BEST FRIENDS AND I
WOULD DIE OF CUTENESS. Also, I can see
Yugi playing around with assorted styles in Japanese fashion. Not saying skirts
or anything because I can’t see him wearing one cause of how bad he wants to be
a man in the Manga, but I can see pumpkin pants and suspenders, or shirts with
sayings on them that the sleeves cover his hands and lots of bangles and even pierces
his ears on a dare from Joey, but likes it cause the Pharaoh had his ears pierced
so why not?
Joey: See this boy I can see him wearing beach bum outfits,
tank tops and shorts that are swim trunks, with flip flops and sunglasses. Him
smelling like sunscreen and sweat cause he’s outside all the time walking
everywhere or riding his bike along the beach. Or I imagine him in Leather
jackets and tight jeans, calf tall boots and looking like a total punk, but
being the sweetest guy you could possibly meet until you piss him off and he
kicks your ass.
Atem: FASHION! If it’s in he is wearing it. He lets Yugi
help pick out some stuff but mainly likes to try out current trends at least
once before he decides if he is going to keep it but he knows for sure that one
part of an outfit that he loves are the shoes and jackets. Not long and lengthy
jackets, but mainly ones that stop right at the waist or ones that cut off
right in the middle of the chest with just enough room for pockets. And in the winter,
he has ever type and color of scarf imaginable and will also sport leather
gloves to keep his hands warm so he can duel.
Seto Kaiba: slim fit suits of his favorite colors and
design. Also, very high fashion silk ties and shirts, always matching and normally
in cool colors, nothing to loud or neon. Very nice shoes that are always shined
and complete every outfit. Though he will never give up his normal attire of
long coats and dramatic flair. (Kaiba is hard for me cause I love his long
coats and very showy style.)
Ryou Bakura: Just throw pastels at this child and let him be
happy please!!! And lots and lots of sweaters!! He wouldn’t care what the
weather would be outside, they make thin fabric sweaters for crying out loud he’s
still going to wear one, he will push up the sleeves if he must. While he’s at
it he can also throw on a bow tie to make his outfit more unique and fun, having
very creative and funny ones to wear with whatever outfit he has.
Tea: I kind of want to see Tea dress like a dancer would.
Not short skirts or anything. I want to see her in dance sweats, and cute tank
tops, ready to bust a move whenever she can. Always having a cute hair tie on
her wrist. Also, I’d like to see her in some sun dresses as well. With her haircut,
they would look adorable on her!! And cute as shit eye shadow and lipsticks!!!
Tristan: Classic Greaser is all I think when I see Tristan.
Like white shirts, tight jeans, boots and a leather jacket. Maybe him and Joey
could start their own Greasers gang lol Then at the same time when he is going somewhere
nice and needs to dress up he throws on a nice sweater vest and tie, dress
pants and looks very handsome.
Rex Raptor: Skater Boi hands down. Scrapped up knees and
ripped jeans. Either a hoodie on with a random dinosaur on it or some band name.
fingers and face normally having band-aids on them from falling off his skate
board. Vans and Converse are his shoe choice but odd and neat patterned ones
with neon colors that don’t match his pants or shirt.
Weevil Underwood: Button up short sleeve shirts and shorts
or pants. Very neutral clean colors with no patterns, unless if it is a shade
of green. He has several different pairs of glasses as well book bags. He also
wears tall socks with dress shoes and looks adorable. Black or colored suspenders also come to mind with this bug lover.
Maximilion Pegasus: Dresses like a business man or someones dad. Sometimes a well-dressed
man with his hair pulled back and out of his face, and the suits are in blacks
or dark grey with bright colored ties and shirts. Other times he is in tan
shorts with a Hawaiian shirt and sandals with long socks when he wants to be
lazy, knowing that when Kaiba comes and sees him about business he will bitch about how dumb he looks and he finds it endearing.
My first take on reviewing merch. More specifically, this fantastic new figure released by Kotobukiya Artfx J. ^_^
First off, Atem’s box is smaller than Yami’s box. Also, the hieroglyphs inside of Atem’s box are black and can be clearly seen while the ones inside Yami’s box are white and can only be seen at certain angles.
Here’s a full body picture of the figure itself. He’s so gorgeous and both his arms and legs are so well defined! ❤ His golden accessories are really shiny and the overall paint job is marvelous, especially on his cape.
(And yes, he wears white undies but I couldn’t take a pic of them with my camera XD)

Just a warning: his earings aren’t static but hanging kind of loosely on small loops at the bottom of his ears so make sure to handle them carefully because the loops have a small opening from which the earings could come off.
Oh! and see the wing-like golden accessory on his shoulder? That also comes off easily so that’s also something that needs to be handled with care.
Here’s a pic of the shoulder accessory I just mentioned taken off of the figure as well as the extra hand that Atem comes with in case you want to take his cape off because it turns out that the hand that’s holding his cape is actually attached to it.

Now here’s Atem without his cape and with the extra hand replacing the cape hand. I’m really glad that Kotobukiya gave us this display option. ^_^

My final score: 10/10 totally buy the Pharaoh Atem figure if you get the chance as well as the Yami figure, both from Kotobukiya Artfx J.
I had a pretty hard time deciding on that one, actually. There were two moments in that movie that took my breath away, gave me shivers and made me smile. Two moments that made my so very very happy.
As someone who’s been a Puzzleshipper for almost 9 years, I really loved the silent bittersweet moment between Yugi and Atem/u. It made me happy, it made my heart ache for them and it was just so perfect. Atem/u coming back to help Yugi out and they obviously had their mind link restored for this short time and communicated and I loved how it was just so very private that even we, the viewers, weren’t allowed to hear it. It was just for the two of them.
But.
I really need to give the favourite moment to the moment where Yugi stood up to Kaiba and made him back off. It was epic, it was badass it made me shiver and it made me so, so, so proud of Yugi. He grew so much and it was a delight seeing him like that. This moment showed everything I wanted for Yugi in that movie and my expectations were met in that regard.
I also took into consideration that within the whole of the series, we’ve been blessed with so many Puzzleshipping moments. There was no shortage of Yugi and Atem fluff. But we’ve seen Yugi in his prime only for a very short time, at the end of the series. That’s also a point why in the end, for me, Yugi standing up to Kaiba weighted more than the Puzzleshipping moment, though I adore them both.
Can you imagine how Yugi has to prepare a speech to hold in front of the class and he tests it on spirit Atem? And Atem is super interested (because after 3000 years he would have some gaps in his education) and listens carefully and he’s being super supportive. He gives Yugi a few tips on how to make himself seem more confident and compliments his work. (”You made that graphic yourself? That looks so good! Oooh, what an interesting example! That’s such a good way to explain it!”)
And on the day he has to present the speech Yugi is all nervous. But Atem is of course there in spirit form and tells him that he can do it! So Yugi walks in front of the class while Atem remains on Yugi’s seat. Yugi keeps looking at Atem and even though his hands are a bit shaky he NAILS that speech!! And afterwards Atem is all proud of him and tells him how well he did.
They make that a routine. Yugi always rehearses his speeches in front of Atem and thanks to his support it gets easier every time for Yugi. He grows more and more confident.
But you know what?
He keeps doing it even after Atem is gone. He pictures Atem in his room as he rehearses, on his seat in the class room…and also on one of the chairs at their graduation ceremony. And he knows Atem would be so proud of him if he were still there.
